Donald Trump has confirmed plans to create a strategic Bitcoin reserve to strengthen the U.S. position in the digital asset sector. According to him, this move will allow the United States to outpace China in adopting the crypto industry.
The idea of a Bitcoin reserve was first proposed by Senator Cynthia Lummis at the Bitcoin 2024 conference. At the event, Trump pledged to make the U.S. the “crypto capital of the world” and supported the BITCOIN Act, which outlines the purchase of up to 1 million BTC over five years to tackle the national debt exceeding $35 trillion.
